Cindy’s Baking Angels is proud to announce that we will be supporting Hines Fisher House again this year as one of our October teams!
Last years' Angel Teams were very successful and this year we are partnering with Semper Fi Sisters Beach Blast! Semper Fi Sisters is supporting numerous Fisher Houses across the US and we are taking on the challenge of supporting Illinois Hines Fisher House!
Team Forever Grateful furnished our Veterans at Hines VA: Fisher House with many comfort items needed by our Veterans and their families.

A little about Hines Fisher House
Fisher House Foundation is best known for a network of comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. There are 63 Fisher Houses in the US and Germany. We will be supporting the Illinois home affilitate with Hines VA Hospital.
"Hines Fisher House opened its doors on March 1, 2010 and has provided accommodations to over 3000 guests. Their house has 20 bedroom suites to accommodate our guests and features a fully stocked kitchen, spacious dining room and several common living room areas for families to gather and offer each other support and friendship while their loved ones are hospitalized at Hines."
Please keep in mind that baked goods are not allowed for this team due to dietary requirements. We will only focus on the listed items below.
Wish List Items for Hines Fisher House
For the Pantry:
- Grocery store gift cards such as Target and Jewel
- K-cup coffee pods/coffee supplies
For the laundry:
- Liquid detergent (Tide) for HE washers
- Fabric softener sheets for the dryer
For the supply cupboard:
- Liquid dish soap and dishwasher all-in-one tabs
- Paper towels, Kleenex and bath tissue
- Pledge multi-purpose cleaner, Lysol spray, Endust
- Stainless Steel Wipes, Leather wipes
- Cold cups and/or hot cups
For our guests:
- Restaurant gift cards (i.e. Portillos, Panera Bread, Subway etc.)
For the guest suites:
- travel size toothpaste/toothbrushes
- Note pads/pens
- Small gift bags for toiletries
- Pump style hand soap (white)
- Hand sanitizer
Donations to Hines Fisher House are Tax-deductible! Keep track of your donation expenses and include a note in your box with the dollar amount and your name and address. Hines will respond with a donation letter you can use for income tax purposes.
