Cindy’s Baking Angels is proud to sponsor our Veterans at Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Hines, Illinois, this month. Last month we had an incredible response to our Comfort Drive and this month I’ve decided to update their Wish–List with other items that they need to make our Veterans and their families’ stay more comfortable. I hope you will join me this month as we shower our Vets with gratitude for all they have done for us!

Paying it forward: Valley View students learn the act of kindness
Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital is located 12 miles west of downtown Chicago on a 147-acre campus. Hines is the largest VA in the state of Illinois, where more than one million Veterans live.
In fiscal year 2011, more than 56,000 Veterans were treated at Hines. In addition, more than 631,000 patient visits occurred at Hines Hospital or at one of our Community Based Outpatient Clinics. They expect the need to increase in 2012.
Hines Hospital services veterans in many different ways and their needs are diverse. Hines needs our help and I’m confident our Angels can make a difference in the lives of our returning Veterans.
This month our “Team Forever Grateful” will focus on additional items to help make their stay more pleasant.
Donations to Hines VA Hospital are Tax-deductible! Keep track of your donation expenses and include a note in your box with the dollar amount and your name and address. Hines will respond with a donation letter you can use for income tax purposes.

Team Forever Grateful is off to a terrific start! Pictures are starting to arrive from our Angels and Hines is very excited about the assistance we are providing. Thanks to all for your compassion and generosity!
Pioneer Elementary students coordinated a school-wide drive to collect items for our Veterans. Ten large boxes filled with Comfort items were delivered to Hines! Thank you to Mrs. West and her students for leading the drive!
A shout-out to Elite Electronic Engineering in Downer's Grove, IL for all the goodies you sent! A huge thank you to Kathy for spearheading this drive. Our Veterans will be most appreciative!
