A little about Team Rakkassan and Zach

Our July team was nominated by Carolyn Bray, cousin to Tracy Farmer, Zach's mother-in-law. Thank you, Carolyn, for reaching out to us to and allowing us to support Zach!

Tracy has been working with me tirelessly to secure these wonderful photos and information about her son-in-law during his deployment. Recently, Tracy learned that Zach is in the running for the "Soldier of the Quarter Award" for the 101st and everyone is most proud of his accomplishments! Our Angels wish you the best of luck, Zach!

Tracy shares, "He is an Auburn University football fan. He likes Captain America, the comic and the movie. He loves to hunt and fish and ride four wheelers. He likes target practice. He was able to shoot a gun that my Paw Paw brought home from WWII. He was thrilled by that. He is an excellent marksman.  He is the oldest of three boys. He graduated from Cherokee County High School in Centre, Alabama, a very small, close knit town."

"Zach decided to join the Army at 19 to better himself.  He is quite the handyman. I swear he can fix anything with no supplies. I call him ZaGyver. Like MacGyver, " says Tracy.

Tracy shares, "This is the 4 deployment. He has pretty much been over seas, in combat for the past 4+ years. He has a Purple Heart and many other awards. He's been in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Germany. He was sent to Switzerland to learn to snow ski. He's been all over Europe. He has been to Latvia for surveillance."
