A little about Team EOD...

Cindy's Baking Angels is proud to be able to support Nick again. The Poellnitz family bears a strong military background. Many thanks to Barbara Purvis, Nick's mother, for referring Team EOD for our Angel support! We will take very good care of him again during his new deployment!

Barbara writes, "Nick is #4 of 5 children. He has a twin brother and three sisters. His brother served in the Marines for nine years and was supported by Cindy's Baking Angels twice during that time. Nick's youngest sister served five years in the Army and was never deployed. Nick's grandfather also served in the Army for 23 years."

Barbara adds, "Nick joined the Army in 2010, graduating BCT from Fort Jackson and then went on to EOD school at Eglin AFB and he graduated in January of 2012. Nick spent almost seven years at Fort Irwin in California. He has deployed two other times in that seven years, once to Kosovo and once to Syria. He recently PCS'ed to Yakima, Washington which is less than two hours from HOME!"

"Nick is married to Mary (a.k.a Franki). She is his best friend and partner in crime. They have three dogs, two cats, a bearded dragon, a boa snake, ten chickens, and a horse. Nick loves to spend time trail riding and has become quite the fisherman as of late. Nick also volunteers with a horse therapy program in Wenatchee called Alatheia when he is home and has free time," Barbara shares.

"Nick loves his job as a bomb technician. He was recently promoted to Staff Sergeant. He holds his senior EOD badge and continues to work towards his Masterbadge certification. Thanks so much for supporting him and his team!" Barbara writes.
