A little about Team USS O'Kane...
Cindy's Baking Angels would like to thank Josie Flores for referring her daughter, Samantha, for our Angel support this month. Our Angels are looking forward to sharing their Angel TLC with Samantha and her Buddies during their deployment.
Josie writes, "Samantha has always been a very strong woman. When Samantha decided to join the Navy she was so dedicated that before she left to boot camp she had already memorized all of the rules they were required to know. She excelled immediately and became the chief petty officer for Division 099 in boot camp. It was so awesome to see her leading her division so young. Currently she leads a great group of sailors and said they will accept any gifts of support to encourage them and make their deployment more comfortable. She's petite and of Hispanic heritage but don't let that fool you because she is very commanding. She is the strongest, bravest, smartest, compassionate, and most beautiful woman I know. She is beautiful inside and out."
Josie adds, "Samantha is now a CTRC Chief in the United States Navy. She is also an amazing mother and wife. She misses her kiddos very much. This is the longest and most dangerous deployment she's been on in her career due to the turbulent times we live in right now.
Her daughter Cali is going on four and son Tony is going on thirteen. They are awesome but miss their momma very much. She loves her family very much and couldn't do this without the support of her amazing husband Jose. I have to mention him because he has sacrificed for our country as well. He was in the Coast Guard and now fully supports Samantha and their kiddos. He's an amazing husband and father.
I thank all of you and pray for all of your military members all the time. I'm a very proud Navy Chief mom. May God bless you all and protect our men and women in uniform always! God bless the USA!"
