Team IM04 Baking Angels ~ July 2026

Featuring Nicholas French

A little about Team IM04....

Cindy's Baking Angels would like to thank Sara French for referring Nicholas and his Buddies for our support this month! Our Angels are thrilled to be able to support them during their deployment.

Sara writes, "Nic is the youngest of my five boys. His dad and oldest brother are Navy Vets. As young as I can remember, Nic would say that he was going to be a jet pilot. He plays fast and hard, he is wicked funny, he beats everyone at fighter pilot games, and thinks outside of the box to find solutions. But also, he has the most compassionate heart and a patience about him that is rare in young men his age. He has a quiet confidence about him that makes people around him feel safe and seen. I am so proud of him and I miss him."

"Nic is basically the ground support to the air support on a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship in the United States Navy. Its primary mission is to embark, deploy, and land elements of the United States Marine Corps in amphibious assault operations, as well as execute disaster relief and humanitarian missions. These Sailors operate and maintain the ground equipment used to support aircraft, such as generators, hydraulic test stands, and tow tractors," adds Sara.

Nic describes his tasks as, "During flight operations we are sent up to the flight deck to make sure our gear is running correctly and that the birds stay up in the air. We take care of lots of pieces of equipment. Actually, I'd say we are the hardest working division on the boat. We take care of numerous things that range from a tiny forklift all the way up to a massive crane or a movable powerful generator that can charge an aircraft's battery."

Sara shares, "Nic is one of four chosen for the specialized troubleshooters who wear the green vest or 'Float coat' on the flight deck. They are highly knowledgeable on the equipment. They think of them as the emergency team."
